Shout out your magazine lovin’ for a chance at a $50 voucher

Magazines are like friends.

They have certain characteristics that make us love them, quirks that we accept, and traits that are uniquely theirs.

Ignoring the fact that the personification of some mags are either male or female, we have a question for you. Two questions in fact, although you only have to answer one to be in the running to win a $50 mag nation voucher.

Answer either of the questions below via commenting on our blog, or via Twitter or Facebook, and the response we like best will win the $50 voucher.

1. If you could have a long term relationship with a magazine, which would you choose and why?

2. If you could have a hot, steamy one night stand with a magazine, which would you choose and why?

Good luck, and let the mag lovin’ begin!

I would choose Monocle with whom to have a long term relationship. Style, substance, and it smells good. That’s all you really need, right? (Also, sometimes it comes with a mini graphic novel.)

  2. Anastasia says:

    1. Long term relationship with ‘UK Vogue’ – its kept me keen and interested and always wanting more
with a mix of high quality fashion styling & beauty, intelligent articles, and a touch of quirky stuffy fabulousness that only the Brits can offer – UK Vogue, I will always love you…..

    2. Hot Steamy One night stand – Teen Vogue! its a guilty pleasure as i am way way way beyond the teenage years…so i only buy it once in a while and even then i always hand it over to my 12yr old niece first!

  3. Courtney says:

If I could have a hot steamy one night stand with a magazine it would be with ‘T-world’! With T-world’s eye for detail, I have no doubt it would cover all of my bases…fun, classic, adventurous, and sometimes left of field, T-world continues to rock my world every 6 months, if only it came more frequently I’d be in T-eaven.

  4. Hannah says:

I’m going to look at this two ways, if I may.

Firstly, if the if magazines were men:

    1. A long term relationship with Fantastic Man. The best of the modern world mixed with a wonderful old fashionedness. Strong, good looking, rich, and probably comes with a great music collection.

    2. A one night stand with Semi Permanent. Artsy, fun, a bit different, and sure to be creative.

    And secondly, the magazines themselves:

    1. A long term relationship with Dumbo Feather, Pass It On. Funny, pretty (if a bit short), and would be sure to inspire me to get out of bed every morning and do amazing things.

    2. A one night stand with Frankie. Almost too cool, quirky and cute, but they’d be sure to bring me a cup of tea in the morning.

  5. Karley says:

I would have a long term relationship with MiNDFOOD because it’s stimulating, engaging, entertaining, a good conversationalist, is interested in a wide variety of topics, pushes my buttons, works hard and has a great body…of articles.

  6. Steph says:

I’d have a long term relationship with Frankie. It’s a lot of fun, with a great sense of humour, but has a good head on its shoulders and has a sensitive side – it’s the kind of magazine you can rely on.

I’d have a steamy one night stand with Wanderlust magazine because I know that in just one night, it would take me to places i’ve never been before ;) .

  7. Emma says:

I would have a long term relationship with Frankie-she would be serene, yet we could have
riveting discussions about random interesting things, and she would sew for me and we would share cups
    of tea:)

A steamy one night stand? Shop Til You Drop, because she’d be well dressed and
I’d get a peek into her wardrobe:)

  8. Amy says:

I would have a long time relationship with Dumbo Feather Pass It On, since we could share our stories and get to know each other in depth as time goes on and constantly learn more about each other…
    AND
I would have a one night stand with Lula – the magazine says it herself, she’s the ‘Girl Of My Dreams’ but I don’t think even being the girl of my dreams could allow me to see her just twice a year!

  9. Craig says:

I would have a relationship with time out sydney, always new exciting things to do

    One Night Stand?

Oh god. All i can say here, is Martha. Stewart. Living. You’d never be short of a story. You’d emerge smelling like scones and lavender essential oils. Covered in flour. A bunch of meticulously arranged, hideous flowers dangling from your soiled hands.

    Amazing.

    Relationship?

Purple. An indulgent, decadent and expensive affair. If you can’t beat the cool kids, join them. Cred and Chanel? Sold.

  11. Sue says:

A long term relationship with The Artists Magazine would certainly help me to stop procrastinating and even, maybe become a serious and active artist.

  12. lauren says:

i would invest in a long term relationship with NYLON, purely for the sharing clothes factor. My music library wouldn’t fare terribly either….

a hot steamy one night stand would be rolling stone, probably backstage at some seedy venue…. ps have you SEEN the russell brand cover?

  13. I promise to love, honour and cherish LULA, the girl of my dreams.

But secretly, I’m having hot, passionate text with LOVE magazine – have you seen the wild hijinks that publication gets up to?

  14. Nat says:

The Monthly for a long term relationship: always raising the bar, educational, funny, sad, intelligent, investigative, brutal, a tough act to follow but worth a shot.

one night stand – Another, they have multiple covers of hotties and a one night stand is a more the merrier affair.

  15. elissa c says:

I’d have a long term relationship with Uppercase magazine. It’s pretty crafty and could keep me stocked in art and blankets.

I’d have a one night stand with Russh…it’s sexy and seems pretty easy (and there is a MAN on the cover this issue).

  16. Carly says:

I am just coming out of a long term relationship with Russh. Unfortunately due to the distance between us and the excessive international delivery on the subscription we had to go our separate ways. I would love to start a new long term relationship with Apartamento… it´s not so clingy, being a bi-annual, it comes from a Spanish speaking country and I am living in one, and we both adore interiors. Not the overly-perfect, pristine, pretty type, but the raw, edgy, individual, honest ones. Hope we can meet again soon mi amor Apartamento! besos

  17. Tarryn says:

I would have a long-term relationship with Frankie. She’s got it all – looks, brains and a great personality! My one night stand would be with the glossy, gorgeous and smokin’ hot Harper’s Bazaar.

  18. mag nation says:

Nadia, for persistance alone, you are hereby declared the winner!

We’ll drop you an e-mail to organise to send out your voucher.

  19. mayssam says:

a hot and steamy night with artichoke, for its sexy ambience.

  20. ramielsan says:

…a little birdy once told me that Magnation used to give away vouchers for those who waltz into the store in their underwear. If that was once true, how come it’s stopped?

  21. mag nation says:

Yep, it was a little thing we did last year for the whole of March called Undies Monday.

It was only ever meant to run for that one month… the novelty of undies-clad customers got old quicker than you’d imagine!
