People love tangible reminders (read: souvenirs) of events, me included. Newspapers and glossy magazines offer this at relatively low cost. A print out of a web page, or a bookmark in your web browser just isn't as sexy as a professionally produced, hard copy of an item that you can put into a drawer and pull out and dust off in 10 years.

Of course, for a lot of people in the modern age such items are simply no more than a way of making a bit of extra cash - I wouldn't be surprised if some of your sold out copies of Q end up selling for a lot more than their shelf value on eBay over the coming months. Remember the $400 souvenir papers that appeared after Barack Obama was elected? - http://bit.ly/pjkgr
